Good afternoon Charley Good afternoon all Thank goodness a competition in which we can look half decent. Any news on Paqueta, odd one that. Expect Lanzini and Fornals to start and get some match play. Hammers

Areola Johnson Aguerd Kehrer Emerson
Rice Downes Lanzini

Although I’d happily see Zouma for Kehrer

Mex straight from the horses mouth Moyes:-
"Lucas Paqueta got a knock in the game [against Newcastle on Wednesday]," he said. "He trained yesterday, but he didn’t feel like he was right so I couldn’t take the chance with it.
"I don’t think it [the injury] is that bad. You probably remember the tackle he got against Newcastle; he has a swollen foot. He tried to train yesterday and did a bit, but didn’t feel like it was right."

Posted on the Fulham match thread as well -
Frankly I couldn't care fucking less about the conference league or Prem survival until Moyes is guaranteed to get sacked either now or by the very least end of season.
Why? Because no matter what happens if Moyes stays we'll always play this type of absolute fucking shite and I don't want to watch it anymore.
I don't want to simply win at all costs. I want our club to play good attacking football and if we win something as well - bonus.
So my only desire is for Moyes to fuck off out of our club for good as quickly as possible.

You’re a proper West Ham fan Yarmouth.
Want us knocked out of Europe and to be relegated.
Proper fan you.

Don’t understand why anyone wouldn’t want us to win this tournament. My only concern is Moyes approach will cost us along the way somewhere.
He’s got to put out a strong side for this first leg and ideally we’ll take a 1-2 goal lead back home

I would like to see that young striker who is drawing favorable comments in the under 18's a chance. Not sure why he wasn't on the bench at Fulham its not as if our strikers are scoring any goals at present!

RM10 But didn't we stuff Genk last year and they are a better team then Gent plus they are on top of the Belgian League.

We’ve got a good chance of winning this tournament, and it would be our best achievement since 1980. I don’t get why anyone wouldn’t want this.

Iron Duke I too don't know why people "diss" this tournament. From the 3rd round to winning the final of the FA Cup, the Winners get £2,775,000, with the League Cup its 175,000 but so far we earnt MORE money in the Conference League already. We earnt about £7,080,457! if we go all the way we would earn £13,500,000 Not bad for a mickey mouse tournament!

Looking forward to this one now we are in the QF stage and looking better in the PL, the earlier KO suits me too. Will be interesting to see what the line up and system is, I doubt we know much about Gent with our amateur set up, we didn't even know much about Fulham!

That's like saying we would beat Newcastle at home last week because we stuffed them 4-2 away last season
The Genk we beat over a year ago finished half way down the Belgian League. We've both gone in very different directions since then
Gent are no mugs and it will be a difficult tie

Gent are better there they were when we last played them, we are worse. This is no easy tie.

Had a look at Gent. Looks like they're a very attacking side, averaging almost two goals a game in the league. They seem very adaptable in regard to formation but mostly play with a back three and use true midfielders/wingers out wide when playing 3-5-2 or 3-4-3. Another stand out is the Nigerian striker Orban, who's scored 14 goals in just eleven starts (30 in 33 games in total since moving to europe). sit back for ninety minutes against these and I think we're going out
